The hotel is easily accessible by road, rail or air; an hour’s drive from Edinburgh (regular flights from London Heathrow to Edinburgh), a 15-minute drive from Dundee Airport (daily flights from London City Airport) and under a two-hour drive from Glasgow. St Andrews Leuchars Air Base (private/chartered aircraft up to Boeing 737 by arrangement) and Leuchars Station (daily connections from London Kings Cross via Edinburgh) are both a five minute drive away.

History
Built in 1968, the hotel was redesigned to coincide with the 1984 Open Championship and reopened by HRH. The Princess Royal. Kohler Co. acquired the hotel in October 2004 and the comprehensive investment programme is now complete.

Golf
The Duke’s: St Andrews is widely regarded as the “Home of Golf” and The Duke’s is the only inland course amongst the famous list of the courses that form part of the Royal & Ancient game’s history. The Duke’s has been remodeled by American architect Tim Liddy, a pupil of Pete Dye, one of the best-known names in golf design.

Officially re-opened in June 2006, the new-look par 71 heathland course situated in the 350 acre Craigtoun Park measures 7,512 yards from the back tees

Children
Under 2’s may be accommodated free of charge when sharing an adult’s room, there is a supplement of £45.00 per child per night for children between 2 – 16 years. Younger guests are issued with a children’s pack, an Old Course Hotel teddy bear is placed in-room and a selection of children’s movies is available via the television information service. Extra beds, cots and babysitting services are also available.

During holiday periods a themed playroom and a games centre with Internet access and PlayStation consoles may be available.
