Herresta GK
Herresta GK In 2004 the construction of one of Sweden's best golf courses started in proximity to Arlanda airport, Märsta, Uppsala and Stockholm. With the international tie with the area, we see that the name of the golf club meets the expectations and demands of the modern and future golfer. The facility was built and is owned and operated by professional golfers, promising the highest quality of the course, selection of goods, training and instruction. Members, sponsors and guests should feel well cared for when they visit the facility. The golf course was designed by the renowned golf course designer Jan Sederholm, with green areas custom designed by golf professionals. The greens are constructed according to USGA method and seeded with Penn A4 grass that ensures fast, smooth and entertaining surfaces. In order to ensure very high quality of the greens, they are cut manually with single cutters. Herresta GK mixes three different types of golf play experiences. Part of the course is played in sparse pine forest, reminiscent of Halmstad Golf Club. Another part has a lot of water that feels like golf courses in Florida. In this area there is a par 3 (short hole) towards an island green completely surrounded by water. The hole is a replica of one of the world's most photographed golf holes: the seventeenth at TPC Sawgrass. The last part is played in a parkland environment with hills and deep bunkers as obstacles. This part is similar to classic “links courses.” The course is thus varied and entertaining for both professionals and amateurs, and guarantees a wonderful golfing experience. Directions to Herresta GK from Stockholm: Take the E4 towards Uppsala and turn off towards Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Follow the signs to route 273 towards Norrtälje/Almunge. At route 273 turn left. After about 3 km you will see an ICA store/petrol station on your right. There is also a sign for Skepptuna GK. Drive past the ICA store and after 2 km turn left at the sign Vidbo. The course is visible after a few hundred metres on the right side.
