Sand Golf Club
One of the most famous golf course architect firms visited Jönköping in autumn 2003. They looked for a place with clean sand soils to be the ultimate prospect of building a golf course in world-class! When we found this unique area, it was realized that the possibilities of creating something that this part of Europe has never seen. An inland links course with the best ingredients from Ireland and Scotland.
Claes-Göran Wibreus and Martin Sternberg, founders of Hills GC in Göteborg, also financed the creation of Sand GC.
In early April 2007 American Golf Digest updated its ranking of the 100 best golf courses outside the U.S.. Sand is one of two golf courses in Sweden and appearing on the list and is ranked as the world's 82nd best course.
