Bro-Bålsta GK
Bro-Bålsta is a tribute to the classic golf courses in the British Isles, adapted to the Nordic climate. The course is located in the beautiful Mälaren landscape a little more than a half hour northwest of Stockholm. The club was formed in 1978 and the course was completed in the mid 80s. In 1986 the Swedish evening paper Expressen gave Bro-Bålsa the rating of five stars signifying a world class course. The comment read: "It reminds at times of a British moorland course. Interestingly bunkered and well-undulating greens, on its way to becoming a super course." In Golf Digest’s ranking in 1996 Bro-Bålsta advanced to sixth place among the country's 354 courses! In1990 the course was host course of the Swedish Championship-Match Ladies, two years later for the National Championship H35 and in1993, it was time for the Swedish Championship Match Men.
