Palheiro Golf
Located in Madeira's volcanic environment, it took a great deal of energy by Cabell B Robinson to design an attractive, fair and challenging 18-hole course. With beautiful views of the charming city of Funchal, Palheiro spreads out across an undulating landscape. The holes range from tree-framed fairways to open holes, but all the holes are somewhat hilly. The short holes require careful choice of club, and on the greens it’s difficult to make the ball stop if you don’t hit it really well. It is easy to be wise after the fact on this course, so when you play it a second time it’s much easier to "score" well. The clubhouse is one of the better "19th holes" with a terrace that offers a view of Funchal and the perfect place to enjoy a good and well-deserved drink.
