Golf Club Schloss Langenstein

The Golf and Country Club Schloss Langenstein was founded in 1990.

The first part of the resort was inaugurated in 1991 and completed in 1992. With consulting of the administration of the Mainau Island and the University of Hohenheim there was built an exceptional spacious facility with an 18-hole-championship course and a short 9-hole public course on about 110 hectar.

With more than 600 big trees, 500 fruit trees, 4.500 wild growing plants and 15.500 swamp hedges and flowering bushes there was created a park around Schloss Langenstein which welcomes any comparison.

The design is made by the Canadian-born Rod Whitman, who has built many well-known golf courses in the U.S. and Canada.

His ambition was to create a golf course in style and appearance of the golden age of classical golf architecture which dispense with exaggerated impacts on nature. A golf course should blend harmoniously with the character of the landscape, underscore its original charm without giving up the international standards of golf.
